Meet Allie Kaelin, Founder & Therapist at Bay Tree Therapy Group

At Bay Tree Therapy Group, we’re proud to have a team of warm, skilled, and compassionate therapists. We’d like to introduce you to Allie Kaelin, LMFT, LPCC, the founder of Bay Tree Therapy Group. Allie brings both personal experience and professional expertise into her work, offering clients a supportive space to feel understood and empowered.

What inspired you to become a therapist?

I was inspired to become a therapist based on my own experience with anxiety as a teenager. Therapy gave me the support I needed at the time, helping me understand my emotions and develop coping skills to manage panic attacks. That experience made me realize how meaningful it is to walk alongside others during challenging times, and ultimately inspired me to create Bay Tree Therapy Group.

How would you describe your approach to therapy?

My approach is strength-based and solution-focused, meaning I highlight the strengths you already have and help you explore what additional strengths we need to sharpen to achieve your goals. I believe that each person already carries resilience within them, and I see therapy as a way to uncover those strengths and build new skills. I also focus on helping clients find solutions that feel practical and realistic for their lives.

Who do you enjoy working with most?

While I truly enjoy working with all of my clients, I feel especially passionate about supporting young women who are exploring self-esteem, boundaries, direction in life, and understanding what women deserve in today’s culture. It’s a privilege to help clients during those pivotal moments of growth and self-discovery.

What can clients expect in their first session with you?

In the first session, I walk clients through confidentiality and the process of therapy so they feel comfortable and informed. We then begin exploring what brought them in and what they’re hoping to gain from therapy. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space and to relate on a human level from the very beginning.

What do you hope clients take away from therapy with you?

I hope clients walk away from our sessions feeling challenged to look deeper into their thoughts and emotions, a stronger sense of self, and the reassurance of knowing they have someone on their side.

What’s something about you that might surprise people?

Outside of therapy, I love spending time with my family and pets! I have a bunny named Luna, a cat named Milo, and an energetic burst of a dog named Bonnie. This little trio always keeps life interesting!
