Kaitlin Koury, AMFT
Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, #165371
I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist and I enjoy working with adolescents, teens, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, life transitions, emotional regulation, and interpersonal challenges. I understand that reaching out for support can feel vulnerable, and I strive to create a warm, welcoming, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel comfortable being themselves and exploring what they are experiencing.
My approach to therapy is collaborative and individualized. I work alongside clients to better understand the thoughts, emotions, experiences, and patterns that may be impacting their lives while helping them develop practical coping skills, greater self-awareness, and confidence in navigating challenges. My goal is for clients to feel supported while also developing tools and insight that can create meaningful, lasting change.
I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), psychodynamic therapy, solution-focused therapy, and mindfulness-based approaches. Because no two people experience life in the same way, I tailor therapy to each client’s individual needs, personality, and goals.
I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from San Diego State University and my master’s degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University.
Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, traveling, and getting outside for walks and hikes. I look forward to getting to know you and supporting you as you work toward greater understanding, growth, and well-being.
